A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

Markets at all time high !

What a day! Both the Sensex and Nifty ended at their all time highs. The Sensex surged a whopping 3.12%.One sector, which had a gala time today was Banking. In fact, the top 5 gainers of Nifty were all banks ! ICICI (8.96%), SBI(6.8%), OBC(6.63%), HDFC(6.57%) and PNB(6.24%). The Nifty Bank index surged 7.12%. I find myself as an absolute loser in this rally, considering banking stocks are yet to make a presence in my portfolio.

The portfolio advanced 2.05%. Good contributions from Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Reliance, TCS, Royal Orchid, L&T and Bajaj Hindustan. Tech Mahindra, after today's gain of 3.75%, became the first scrip in my portfolio to offer 400%+ gains!

A very interesting week indeed, DOWN-DOWN-DOWN-UP-UP..AND AWAY!
