A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

Secondary market buy - InfoTech Enterprises

Finally, I mustered the courage to invest in a Midcap IT stock - InfoTech Enterprises Ltd. It was based on an assessment I did, a couple of weeks ago. Find it here: http://rajeshvj.blogspot.com/2007/02/weekend-dig-infotech-enterprises-ltd.html

I bought 20 shares at the price of 351. Accounting for the high ICICI-Direct brokerage, the average price should be around 354.50. So far my picks from the secondary market (especially the ones that involved 'detailed' analysis) have been ABSOLUTELY disastrous! For instance, Mid-day Multimedia. I wish I had picked up one copy of that __yellow journal__ before buying that scrip. If I had, I'm sure, that very moment I would have changed my mind.

Lets see, how bad can this one get !
