A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

Today is a Special Day

Today is a special day. For the first time one of my picks from the secondary market has yielded more than 100% returns. It is none other than Bartronics. Another good aspect of this particular pick was that I had bought this stock by simply following my instincts and understanding the good prospects of this business. It was not something I did listening to some bozo on CNBC TV18 or by reading someone's blog.

It was bought at a price of 84.25 (includes brokerage) on the day of the Muhurat trade (Diwali Special Trading Session on 21st October 2006). The scrip is now trading at 175.30. A fine return of 108.07% in less than 9 months. It sure was a great muhurat for me !

Bartronics is a dominant player in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) space. Offerings include barcode readers, smart card technology solutions, RFID and IR-based access control systems.
