A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

What a day that was ?

Bloody Monday

The portfolio tanked by a whopping 2.38 %. Better, when compared to the indices - thanks to Infy, the heavy weight in my portfolio. Infy stood strong and battled the whole day (in fact was in the green most of the time), responding to good news of it entering the Nasdaq 100.

Patel Engg. too needs a mention, it was the only scrip in my PF which ended the day in green. Biggest suckers of the lot were Sun (-6.93 %), Parsvnath (-5.76%), Bajaj-Hindustan (-5.34%), RIIL (-5.82%), Bartronics (-4.52%) and Ashok Leyland (-4.38%)

I expect the bearish trend to continue today. But the session might just start in green.
