A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

Tax planning in Mul-land

Did some more tax planning, when I was in Kerala. Following the theory I preached in a earlier post, I enrolled for a Term insurance, Anmol Jeevan-I (Product No. 164) from LIC. My intention was to go for a cover of 50 lacs, but thanks to the lack of time and the additional medical formalities involved for policies above 25 lacs, I couldn't go for the same. The policy I enrolled in, offers a cover of 24 lacs for a period of 25 years. The annual premium works out to be Rs. 6558. Pretty satisfied with my choice.

For an additional cover of 24 lac, will mostly be knocking the doors of SBI-Life. Lets see, how things go.
