A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

Allotment status of Indian Bank

The allotment status of Indian Bank IPO is out. This time, the Cameo site does not seem as overloaded as it was in case of Redington. When, I keyed in my application number, this is what I got:

INDIAN BANK
Name RAJESH VIJAYARAJAN
Application No 13218784
Alloted Shares 265
Refund Amount 44135
Refund Order No 104052
Refund Mode ECS

Oh my god! 265 shares. Now, is that good news or bad news ? I have no idea. This is some overwhelming allotment, never did I even dream I would be alloted so many shares. Looking at the way, the banking sector (especially PSU banks) got butchered this week, I'm a little worried about this one.

I found the BoA of the issue here. It reveals that anyone who applied for a multiple greater than 2 (i.e. 225 shares and above) has been given FIRM allotment. Again, luck had no role to play, there was no lottery. From the final subscription statistics listed in the same document, it seems like only QIBs have show significant interest in this issue. It was oversubscribed 55.41 times in their category. In case of Retail, the subscription stands at 2.91 times, poor when compared to other recent issues. In fact, in the ESOP category (0.99 times), the issue was not even fully subscribed.

Enam has given indications that the scrip with list next week. I wonder whether its before, on or after the budget. Hmm...for a change, I'm worried that I got allotment. Thats life !

This brings in further improvement to my IPO hit-rate:
