A phrase that the Oxford English Dictionary reports was first used in 1736. It means "to make an inventory of the merchandise, furniture, etc., in one's own possession, recording its quantity and present value, or to make a careful estimate of one's position with regard to resources, prospects, or the like."

My luck continues to suck

The allotment for Autoline Industries was out today. I was really hoping on getting some allotment in this issue, considering it was was oversubscribed only about 17 times (much much lesser compared to other IPOs, I had earlier applied for.). But, disaster strikes again. The Intime spectrum page read "Rajesh Vijayarajan - 0 shares alloted." :(

Checked the Basis of Allotment to discover that the allotment ratio for my category (i.e retail investors who applied for 200 shares) was 31:50. Implying, every 3 out of 5 got allotment ! Its me, I had to be one among the 2!

Applied for the Redington India IPO today. I expect this fellow to be over-subscribed by at least 50 times. I'm getting a feeling that I'm wasting my time applying for IPOs. It simply ain't my cup of kaapi !

My IPO allotment hit-rate: An awful 16.67%.
